2.8.1

ud itye akraman trayo
vyāghraḥ puruṣo vṛkaḥ |
hirug jyotiḥ sūryo
hirug devo vanaspatir
hiruṅ navantu śatravaḥ ||

2.8.2

parameṇa pathā vṛkaḥ
pareṇa steno arṣatu |
tato vyāghraḥ paramaḥ ||

2.8.3

akṣyau ca te hanū ca te
vyāghra jambhayāmasi |
āt sarvān viṃśatiṃ nakhān ||

2.8.4

yat saṃnaśo vi yan naśo
yad ?vinaśo na saṃ naśaḥ ? |
mūrṇā mṛgasya dantā
apiśīrṇā u pṛṣṭayaḥ ||

2.8.5

vyāghraṃ datvatāṃ vayaṃ
prathamaṃ jambhayāmasi |
ād it stenam ahiṃ
yātudhānam atho vṛkam ||

2.8.6

neva rapsasai
na gṛhaḥ paraś cara |
dvipāc catuṣpān no mā hiṃsīr
indrajāḥ somajā asi ||
