agníś śúci-vratatamaś śúcir vípraś śúciḥ kavíḥ śúcī rocata ā́hutaḥ
úd agne śúcayas táva śukrā́ brā́janta īrate táva jyótī(g)ṃṣy arcáyaḥ

dhārāsu saptásu

idám ā́paś śivā́ḥ

nārāyaṇā́ya

bhū́ḥ prápadye

vaíkhāṇasāyā́cyúta-sa(gg)ṃśrayā́ya
tápo-ígra niṣṭhā́ya ca bráhma-darṣine[*800]
[*800] VMP divides this verse making the second line the first line of chapter 42. The numbering is adjusted so that the complete verse comes at the end of chapter 41.
