Rig Veda
Articles on the Rig Veda: its teachings, stories and meaning, explained in plain words.
The Rig Veda is the oldest of the four canonical Vedas and a primary Shruti scripture of Sanatan Dharma. Traditionally revealed to ancient rishis and compiled by sage Veda Vyasa, it is organized into ten books called Mandalas. Its sacred hymns mainly praise Vedic deities like Agni, Indra, and Varuna, while also contemplating cosmic order and the origin of the universe.
As the oldest known Sanskrit text, the Rigveda is not a storybook but a vast collection of ritual and philosophical hymns that laid the foundation for Sanatan Dharma.
